Following my recent in-depth article on getting your online meeting running in AltspaceVR (part of a series for online events services), I’ve been asked by several people to “show me the money” and do a show and tell in AltspaceVR to demonstrate how easy it is.
As a Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional), out helping my community of game developers and technology peeps, I am often asked to talk at some event, speak at a user group or support a community in its open source work. in short, donating my free time to help others in a developer way.
For my sins, I was asked back to FutureDecoded again this year to give a talk on the Microsoft UWP platform, specifically about bringing games to the XboxOne using UWP. By all accounts the session went well (especially as there was standing room only by the time the talk started). With it being just two days in the London ExCeL exhibition center, not everyone who wanted to make it could, in fact even some people were contacting me on the day saying they were in other sessions at that time but wanted more info.

Barriers to entry are breaking down and huge cloud offerings from all the major suppliers are popping up left right and center. We see these on our devices (Siri, Cortana, Google Now), in our browsers yet to date, it is being used mainly for one thing it seems, Ads (joy).
It is gaming festival season again and they really do not come much bigger than Insomnia in the UK.
It’s been a fun ride over the past year, I’ve written a Unity book and I’ve attended over 4 Unity porting events for Microsoft and Nokia, it’s fair to say Unity and I have been on good terms this year :D.
Here is a bit of news you don’t want to miss if you are an existing Unity3D developer in the UK, Nokia and Unity3D have gotten together with some assistance from Microsoft to hold the UK’s largest Unity3D porting event.
It happens every so often, you open up your mail or twitter feed and there is a very welcome surprise waiting for you, the biggest one of late was the announcement of the TechEd Challenge (#TechEdChallenge)
Following up from the UK Techdays (#uktechdays) online conference we presented at, the full conference is now available online for re-viewing, in case you missed them on the day.
